What we collect

Grepd collects the minimum data needed to provide the service:

  • Email address and display name (for authentication)
  • Organization and variable data you create
  • Usage metadata (which variables are inserted and on which domains)

How we use it

Your data is used solely to operate Grepd — syncing variables across your team, powering the autocomplete extension, and serving the public API for embed use cases. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for advertising purposes.

Chrome extension

The Grepd extension requests access to all websites so it can provide autocomplete in any text field. It does not read page content, track browsing history, or collect any data beyond the variable insertions you explicitly trigger.

Data storage

All data is stored in a secure, managed PostgreSQL database hosted by Supabase with row-level security enabled. Authentication tokens are stored locally in your browser's extension storage and are never sent to third parties.

Analytics

We use PostHog for basic product analytics (page views, feature usage). No personal data is shared with analytics providers beyond anonymized event data. You can opt out by using a browser ad-blocker.

Third-party services

  • Supabase — database, authentication, file storage
  • Cloudflare — hosting, CDN, API edge caching
  • PostHog — product analytics (optional)

Data deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the dashboard. Organization data is removed when all members leave or the organization is deleted. If you need assistance, contact us at info@grepd.app.
